Firestone Theatre is Set for Another Look in the Mirror
- Firestone CLC
The Firestone Theatre has been invited to perform its fall production of "The Fairest" at the annual State Thespian Conference, to be held at Sylvania Northview High School in March and sponsored by the Ohio Educational Theatre Association. This production is under the direction of Mark A. Zimmerman and represents the first performance of the play outside of the original New York performances. Students from across the state gather at the conference for full-length performances, one-act plays and cuttings in addition to the All-Ohio Show, the Best of Thespys and dozens of theatre workshops. Students join the Thespian Troupe by earning Thespian points throughout the school year for participating on stage and off for any school theatre productions as well as by attending Thespian conferences, competing in Thespys and many other school theatre activities.
Firestone Theatre's next production is the world premiere of Eric Mansfield's play, "Trial by Fire." "Trial by Fire" is an exciting and prescient take on censorship and book-banning in the educational system. This is a new, not-to-be-missed script by an impressive local playwright, Eric Mansfield. The play will be held in the Black Box Theatre at Firestone CLC (470 Castle Blvd.) from Jan. 18-20 at 7 p.m. and Jan. 21 at 2 p.m. Purchase your tickets here >>.
