Five Questions with Community Leader Ralph Paulk
NOTE: Ralph Paulk is one of the APS storytellers, providing timely and interesting stories about APS programs, awards and personnel.
Ralph Paulk, 68, knew he was an underdog when he ran for the District 5 seat in the 2024 Summit County Council election.
"We knew we would be battling uphill the entire way," Paulk said. "But the bottom line for me, for politics always, is that politicians are better when they are pushed. It's better to win the race than to have one handed to you."
Despite losing the primary race to Brandon Ford, the Tiretown Golf Club president enjoyed his time running for the council seat, citing the people he met and the lives he might have affected.
Paulk and his wife, Marilyn Miller Paulk, both of whom are former Beacon Journal reporters, live in Fairlawn. They have five children and one grandchild who was born in December 2024.
