The Akron Public Schools middle school basketball championships will be held Tuesday, February 13.
Our scholar-athletes are having the opportunity of playing at UA courtesy of the LeBron James Family foundation and I PROMISE School.
The I PROMISE team uses the JAR arena a few times during basketball season. The IPS girls' team is playing against Hyre CLC in the championship game at 4:30 p.m. followed by the boys' game at 5:30 p.m. between Hyre and Innes CLC.
Admission is free.
We appreciate the foundation's support on this because it is quite unusual for a middle school team to be able to play at a college arena.
This is a tremendous opportunity for our teams to play in this environment.
