Progress With Chess End-of-Year and Upcoming Tournaments

Two years ago, PWC (Progress With Chess) started running chess classes in Akron schools and summer chess camps as well. The free free end-of-the-year tournament was held at Jennings CLC for the chess students. APS provided transportation and lunches for the event.
Another free chess tournament will be held at City of Joy Church (610 W. Exchange St.), open to grade school, middle school and high school students, on July 5. Doors open at 9 a.m. with the first round at 10 a.m. Competitors will be divided by grade into K-4, 5-8 and 9-12 groups.
Register online at progresswithchess.org/akron. This event is limited to the first 60 registrants, so register now to reserve your place! All chess sets will be provided by Progress with Chess. Paid concession will be available on-site offering breakfast items, snacks and adult lunches. All players will receive a free lunch!
