Thank You for a Remarkable Year
- Superintendent
Dear Staff,
As we wrap up the 2024–2025 school year, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you.
This has been a year of both challenge and achievement. Through it all, you remained focused on what matters most: our students. Your commitment and care have made all the difference, and I am proud of what we have accomplished.
Over the course of 169 school days in 2024-25, you have inspired curiosity, built community, and helped students grow academically, emotionally, and socially. And now, we send off our graduates, proud and prepared, to make their own mark on the world. This year, your efforts have led to measurable successes across the district, including:
- 1,275 graduates in the Class of 2025
- 3,136 students earned industry-recognized credentials
- 117,871 hours of work-based learning completed
- 704 students earned credit in 267 dual enrollment courses
- 8,712 college credits earned through dual enrollment
- 29 students committed to military service
These numbers tell a powerful story. They reflect the lives you have touched, the futures you have helped shape, and the possibilities you have opened for our students. As you head into summer, I hope you take a moment to recognize the difference you have made in the lives of so many young people. Your work matters.
I am privileged to work alongside such a dedicated and skilled team. From educators and school leaders to support staff in every department, your influence on our scholars, our schools, and the Akron community is both meaningful and lasting.
Please take this time to unwind, enjoy what brings you joy, and spend time with those who lift you up. I look forward to seeing you at the 2025 Convocation on August 18, 2025. Please save the date. More details will follow soon.
Wishing you a peaceful and fulfilling summer.
With appreciation,
Mary B. Outley
