Admission Process
Every year applications are accepted from current fourth-graders wishing to enroll in NIHF STEM Middle School for fifth grade.
Eligible applications are divided by residential cluster, and an approved LOTTERY PROCESS is followed to determine how the spots are filled. Below is the number of spots we fill for fifth grade each year listed by cluster.
- Buchtel Cluster - 16 seats
- East Cluster - 16 seats
- Ellet Cluster - 16 seats
- Firestone Cluster - 16 seats
- Garfield Cluster - 16 seats
- North Cluster - 16 seats
- Out of District - 12 seats
How to Apply
Families need to complete the Open Enrollment application during the Open Enrollment period to be included in the lottery. Please check the district website for the current Open Enrollment dates.
STEM Showcase
Every year families are invited to attend our STEM Showcase to learn more about our innovative school by taking a self-directed tour, observing student work, meeting some of our community partners and engaging with NIHF STEM learning coaches.
