The LeBron James Family Foundation has partnered with the Magic of Lights, a holiday lighting organization, to decorate the I Promise School in Akron.

Magic of Lights has decorated the I Promise School on West Market Street near downtown Akron for the holiday season. For students and families associated with the school, the organization also is collecting donations of new khaki pants and socks, in youth and adult sizes.

Donations will be accepted at the front gate of the Summit County Fairgrounds, where Magic of Lights will hold its annual drive-through lights display. Donors will receive $5 off admission to Magic of Lights.

Magic of Lights is open 5:30 to 9 p.m. Monday-Wednesday with admission $20 per vehicle and 5:30 to 10 p.m. Thursday-Sunday with admission $25 per vehicle. The exhibit features illuminated trees, the Jolly Holiday Village, photo opportunities with Santa, games, crafts and snacks.

Part of the proceeds from the event will benefit the LeBron James Family Foundation and the Ohio Farm Bureau.

Magic of Lights produces holiday lighting displays in cities across the nation. The event has raised more than $25,000 and participated in food and clothing drives for people in need in Northeast Ohio.

The I Promise School was built through a partnership between Akron Public Schools and the foundation and this year served 240 third-and fourth-graders who are under performing in reading, math and other essential academic areas. The curriculum is STEM-based and uses a hands-on approach. By 2022, the school will serve first- through eighth-grade students and number nearly 1,000 kids.
