The Akron School Board sent a request to Resnik CLC for a certain fifth-grader to come and lead the board in the Pledge of Allegiance at its March 26,2018, meeting.
Last evening, Jae’Anthony Wharton stepped up to the flag and delivered the pledge.
Jae-Anthony is a principled young man. His teachers tell us he comes to school every day prepared to learn. He takes his academic work seriously and has proven his academic efforts by being on the honor roll each marking period this year. Jae’Anthony serves as an ambassador for Resnik CLC.
Jae’Anthony has balanced his school work with his extracurricular activities. He has taken Tae Kwon Do for six years and is a second-degree black belt. He takes Korean lessons from a family friend to honor his mother's heritage. He plays baseball (outfielder) and is on the track team at Resnik.
Principal Kristen Booth tells us Jae’Anthony "lives" the IB learner profile, and they could not be more proud of him.
Thank you, Jae' Anthony!
