The Akron School Board invited fifth-grader Blessing Burke to lead its April 30, 2018, meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance. Blessing is a student at McEbright CLC. She has attended McEbright since second grade, and all of her teachers report to us that she is an amazingly talented student.
Principal Deborah Musiek tells us Blessing shows "true leadership skills" in the classroom and all areas of school.
Blessing’s favorite subject is math, and she enjoys working on order-of-operations problems. Blessing is one of the highest achieving students at McEbright.
In fact, her test scores in math and reading place her in the 80th percentile.
We may find Blessing at another Akron public school next fall, as she says she is planning to attend Helen Arnold CLC for sixth grade. More immediately, however, her excitement is about her summer vacation and a planned trip to the beach with her family.
Have fun, Blessing!
