When the Akron School Board asked Leggett CLC Principal Greg Blondheim to invite a student to lead the board in the Pledge of Allegiance before the November 5, 2018, meeting, Blondheim quickly came up with a fifth-grade student he thought would be perfect for the request.
Jamarius Picket is a well-rounded student in Leggett's fifth-grade class. Jamarius' teachers tell us he loves to read; his favorite subject in school is physical education. No wonder ... he also loves to play football, basketball and soccer and, we're told, is a huge Cleveland Cavaliers fan.
Most importantly, Jamarius Pickett, when asked for what he is most thankful, answers: "My amazing mom, my brother and my sisters."
