The Kenmore-Garfield High School Art Department hosted a Talent Night last week. We want you to see the immense talent we see every day. Included are the winning pieces created by student artists and chosen by the Kenmore-Garfield faculty and staff.
Our thanks to our Fine Arts Learning Specialist Nathaniel D. Duvuvuei and art teacher Kelley Waickman for sending us this news.
Below are the award winners (we had a three-way tie for Best in Show and Most Creative):
Best in Show - Alexis Olei "Keyshawn"; Malaya Owens "The Pimp"; Chris Williams "Spacescape"
Most Creative - Josh Morris "Whopper"; Chris Williams "Spacescape"; Kameelah Taylor "Tree of Life"
Best Drawing - Alexis Olei "Keyshawn"
Best Painting - Janaesia Lewis "Sunflowers"
Best Photo - Cassie Studer "Winter Weeds"
Best Upcycle - Megan Cox, Moses John, Bryce Owens "Storage Stool"
Congratulate all of our kids if you know they had work displayed! Amazing job.
Also, special thanks to teacher Cheryl Marez who purchased a piece from Janaesia Lewis - thanks for the support!
