Class was in session Thursday morning at the John S. Knight Center.
David James, superintendent of Akron Public Schools, was presented with the 2019 Lieberth Community Vision Award from Leadership Akron. And his co-workers, family and friends put together an appropriate show for the occasion.
A classroom setting was the theme, with the crowd comprising the students. Starting with the opening bell and morning announcements, participants remained in character as teachers and administrators.
James, in his 11th year as superintendent, was the focus throughout. It was worthy of one of those old “This is Your Life” TV episodes.
