Probate Court and ConxusNEO Team Up for Christmas and Valentine's Day Cards
Posted on 12/10/2020
Image of Heart in HandThe year 2020 is one we will never forget and one that many can’t wait to put in their rearview mirror. Senior citizens struggling with isolation and hardworking caregivers across Summit County are all looking forward to the possibilities that 2021 may bring. The Probate Court and the ConxusNEO Healthcare Sector Partnership want your help in sending some encouragement and a farewell to 2020 and to also show some love to those who have given so much this year in caregiving and healthcare. Cards with any level of artistic ability will be collected now through February 10, 2021.

The Summit County Probate Court with assistance from ConxusNEO collected more than 4,000 cards for seniors in April and May of 2020 and delivered them to those in congregate care or isolation.

“2020! What can we say but, thank goodness, it’s over! Sadly, in 2021, we will still have many people in isolation, including some of our most vulnerable seniors. Last spring, your cards and artwork made a difference; we hope you can help us cheer them and their caregivers in this new year,” shared Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer.

Cards that express your well wishes to seniors and Valentine’s for caregivers can be mailed to the Court. Homemade, unsealed and signed cards are preferred. Those without the ability to the mail cards, or who choose to make virtual cards, can email them to the Court for printing. Those with large collections of cards can reach out for curbside or porch pickups on a case-by-case basis.

“The demand for skilled and compassionate healthcare workers has played an increasingly critical role during the pandemic,” said Michelle Collins, Vice President, ConxusNEO. “Our partners shared that a simple, heartfelt card is greatly appreciated by those who are so diligent about the safety and care of their patients. This card-writing campaign gives our community an opportunity to show appreciation to healthcare workers and bring joy to the patients and residents they serve.”

Cards should be free of loose items such as excessive glitter or confetti. Send mailed cards to:
