  • Efficacy-based Programs: accurate, supported by research, diverse instructional methods
  • Well-trained Staff: educators implementing the program receive high-quality training
  • Appropriate Placement: correct grade-level and timing, meets curriculum standards
  • Sufficient Reach: courses deployed to an entire grade-level with high usage and completion
  • Outcomes Evaluated: results reviewed to ensure student impact and knowledge gain
During the 2019-20 school year, 49 Akron Public Schools teachers used EVERFI’s online learning resources with their 3,530 students. Health classes use their online resources to meet the state of Ohio’s health mandates regarding opioid abuse and prescription drug safety. Rachel’s Angels, an approved APS speaker organization, has been addressing the opioid crisis in our middle and high school health classes for the past three years.

APS health classes also use EVERFI prescription drug safety courses as a training tool for student leaders. Health classes have used this course to reinforce prescription drug safety. In addition, high school social studies classes use EVERFI’s financial literacy program. Middle and high school social studies classes also access other courses involving financial literacy and African American History.

EVERFI learning resources are available to districts at no cost, and it has always been their goal to provide equal access to those resources regardless of ability to pay. College & Career Readiness, Health & Wellness, Social-Emotional Learning, and Finance Education are just a few of the topic areas covered in their learning resources.
