In addition to the website traffic, more than 60,000 calls had poured into the Ohio Department of Health call center, state officials said.

Ohio is holding five drawings over five weeks to award $1 million prizes to five winners and full-ride college scholarships to five teens ages 12 to 17. Participants must be Ohio residents and have received at least one shot of a COVID-19 vaccination by the Sunday night before the Monday drawings. Winners will be announced on Wednesdays, starting May 26.

Participants must also sign up for the drawings by registering at or calling 833.4ASK.ODH.

The official number of entries won’t be released until Monday after the drawing and verification is done.

“We are thrilled to see so much excitement for the Ohio Vax-a-Million drawings,” said Ohio Lottery Director Pat McDonald in a written statement. “The odds of winning are the same whether you visit or call the ODH call center. It is quick and easy to register online for your chance to win Ohio Vax-a-Million. Remember, it’s one entry per person; and once you’ve entered you’re in for all five weeks!”
