Akron Public Schools partners in education from the Summit County Historical Society and GAR Foundation helped bring Harriet Tubman and her story to life for students at Bridges Learning Center on West Thornton Street.
The program began with Reva Golden of the historical society portraying Harriet Tubman. She was captivating and powerful. Lucille Espisito and Kristen Toth of the GAR Foundation joined in the celebration of learning.
Ms. Golden performed her original one-woman play and, following her performance, students shared their canvases before taking them home.
Bridges Learning Academy and Akron Public Schools are happy to have an opportunity to continue our community partnerships with the Summit County Historical Society and the GAR Foundation while exploring #bekind330 through expressive arts therapies.
