Students at Akron Public Schools NIHF (National Inventors Hall of Fame) STEM High School lined a wide hallway at school late yesterday to wish their team, Team "Dougie," success in Dallas. The state title holders from STEM and the team from Firestone CLC are on their way to Dallas for the VEX (Robotics) World Championships this week.
In team bracket play, STEM "Dougie" claimed back-to-back state tournament champion titles (2021 & 2022). Firestone also showed great strength within their five teams with one team finishing as bracket semi-finalists to round out an amazing performance for Akron Public Schools in Columbus in March.
Both schools have three teams each that qualify for the VEX World tournament. We'll keep you posted on how they do.
