Akron Children's Museum invites all train fans to explore the wonder and excitement of the world of trains at its All Aboard The Akron Express event, sponsored by Synthomer Foundation, on April 23-24 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Children will actually be able to play with trains, meet and talk with train conductors and engineers, and explore train exhibits -- all presented by the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, Lock 3, The Home Depot and Burning River N Society. There will be a free showing of the PBS movie Dinosaur Train Loves Trains and a special ride around Lock 3 Park on the Little Roaming Railroad. Guests can also decorate and take home their own cookie, participate in an interactive storytime, explore STEM-based activities, and design and build their own train car out of Lego bricks. Wooden train donations are being accepted during the event. Tickets are $12 for non-members and $10 for members per day; tickets for the train rides are sold separately (rides take place between 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m.). Tickets may be purchased online at
