We Had a G.R.E.A.T. Time

Last week, Buchtel CLC hosted 42 College & Career Academies of Akron business and non-profit partners during the inaugural Buchtel 8 to G.R.E.A.T. (Griffins Rally to Engage, Activate & Transform) conference.
Academy Coach De'Anna Edwards tells us, "This was a wonderful opportunity for Buchtel teachers and partners to connect and transform College & Career Academies of Akron through the strategic planning of relevant lessons and projects."
During the event, the 67 teachers who voluntarily attended had an opportunity to:
- familiarize themselves with our partners during 8-minute rotations;
- share pathway teaching timelines and ideas for desired pathway experiences;
- collaborate with partners to create lessons, projects, etc. for Semester I (some even went on to complete lessons for Semester II) that incorporate Teaching Through the Career Lens; and
- hear best practices from Pearl Cohn of Nashville teachers and partners aligned with specific core subject areas.
