Freedom Taillight Project was founded in 2022 in response to the tragic death of Jayland Walker and works to help maintain safe, fully legal vehicles. The project will host a free Taillight Clinic on the second Saturday of every month beginning with April 8 from noon-5 p.m. at Advance Auto Parts (1308 V. Odom Blvd.). The clinic doubles as a community event and includes fixing car lightbulbs, making minor repairs, giving E-Check advice, checking for warrants, providing voter registration, food and music. The project would appreciate having the word spread about this service, volunteering and/or donating.
