Presented by Akron Police Department Officer Lauri Natko, Hidden in Plain Sight is a presentation of education and resources for parents. The event takes place on May 4 from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Akron Public Schools Board of Education (10 N. Main St.) and includes on-site and hosting information booths from many community organizations.
With the help of local police, dangerous secrets that could be hiding in plain sight in your home will be revealed. They could be dangerous objects disguised as common household products. Parents have no idea unless they know what to look for. It is also giving parents some more tools on how to parent with this generation of tech-savvy youth. It’s a presentation and several display items that adults can interact with. During the presentation, how items are used and how they affect our children will be demonstrated. Several handouts and informational material will be on hand. This is a can’t-miss event. Any caregivers who have participated leave feeling more knowledgeable and empowered.
Free parenting classes are also available by enrolling in The Parent Project. The next 10-week class session begins May 18.
