Last Saturday, April 9, the Ellet CLC NJROTC program held a military ball. The cadets and their guests performed exceptionally well by demonstrating proper etiquette and behavior.
Dressed up for a night to remember, cadets and guests enjoyed food, music and ceremonial activities. Days prior, cadet leaders gave instructions on ballroom dancing and etiquette for cadets to participate in the night's festivities.
From socializing, eating dinner and dancing to rendering honors and remembering fallen service members, each cadet proudly upheld the program's core values while representing Ellet CLC.
Senior Naval Science Instructor Col. Lionel Urquhart tells us, "The dinner for the Ellet NJROTC ball was prepared and served by the students of Rebecca Hixon's Hospitality Department. The food was delicious." Col. Urguhart added, "Ms. Hixon's students were friendly, polite and extremely helpful throughout the evening. Cadet Lieutenant Jaylee Straight, a senior at the Ellet Community Learning Center, did an outstanding job of planning this year's event."
Cadets wish to thank all the cadets, parents, caterers and staff members who made this event possible. Last but not least, happy birthday to the Cadet Executive Officer, Cadet Lieutenant Jaylee Straight, whose birthday was magnified by the dance she helped create.
