The National Inventors Hall of Fame STEM High School Esports teams are heading into playoff time; Principal Dina Popa gives us an update as we move from the end of the spring season competition to regional and state title time.

"Of our five teams this year, four of them made the playoffs with the sixth on the cusp ... but we won't know until the end of this week. We are very happy with the progress made this season! I feel all of our teams have made great strides from the fall season and have shown tremendous growth," the principal told us today. Here is the lineup of teams poised for playoffs:

Fortnite - On the cusp of playoffs, currently ranked seventh but in the last week of competition and need top eight to make it to regionals
Overwatch - Overwatch ended the season undefeated at 7-0 heading into regionals
Smash(V) - Smash ended the season undefeated at 7-0 heading into regionals
Smash(JV) - Ended the season with a 6-1 record and will have JV playoffs online when we return from break
Valorant - Ended the season 6-0-1 with a tie against last season's champions

Regionals will be May 6-7. Should STEM teams make it to the top of their respective games at regionals, they will be invited to the state tournament which is again held at UA this year. The state tournament is May 20-21.
