GAR Foundation as awarded more than $2.5 million in grants to nonprofit groups in Greater Akron.
The foundation focused its support this quarter on education, economic, workforce and community development, basic needs, and arts and culture.
“We are continually grateful for the opportunity to advance GAR’s strategic priorities through key partnerships built on shared learning and collaborative action,” GAR Foundation President Christine Mayer said in a prepared statement. “We’re excited to sharpen our focus as we move into another year of helping Akron to become smarter, stronger and more vibrant.”
Akron Public Schools is among the recipients. We thank GAR Foundation and its President Christine Mayer for this generous donation of $92,000 which will be used for Teen Mental Health First Aid and Peer Mediation Training.
