The West Akron Kiwanis, a service organization "dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time," held its annual Flapjacks & Flowers fundraiser on April 30 to benefit Miller South School. This year, the event was jointly presented with the Miller South students, featuring vocalists from Paul Stewart's classes and pianists from Gwen Hayes classes. The event resulted in $4,000 for the school's future programs.
