Supt. Inspires 'Employee of Distinction' Luncheon

Hundreds gathered to thank, honor and recognize some of the Akron area's best employees for their dedication to those they serve. It was the annual Goodwill Industries Employee of Distinction luncheon held at Guy's Party Center in South Akron.
WAKR's Ray Horner emceed the hour-long program at which Akron Public Schools Superintendent Christine Fowler Mack delivered the keynote address (
read remarks here >>) to honor public service and the generosity of spirit shown by the hundreds in attendance, the honorees and those in our communities who work with dedication every day.
"Each of us, in this complex world, has the ability to make a difference, and I thank you all for getting up every day with this generous gift in your heart," said the superintendent.
Among those honored is APS science teacher Christine Justiss, the district's most recently recognized APS Teacher of the Year.
