Akron Public Schools is pleased to share the recent announcement that our recently retired Chief Academic Officer, Ellen McWilliams-Woods, has been selected as this year’s LifeChanger Capstone Award winner. Ellen is receiving a $3,000 cash prize to share with our district as well as national recognition.
LifeChanger is a national program that recognizes educators for the positive difference they make in the lives of their students, for being a leader in the school community, for exemplifying excellence as an educator and for creating a nurturing atmosphere in our schools. Awards are funded by the National Life Group Foundation and the National Life Group with LifeChanger of the Year to strive to shine a spotlight on all the good that happens in schools across the country.
Please join us in celebrating Ellen. We know there are many other amazing LifeChangers right here in our district. Let’s keep this recognition going! To nominate more of our amazing school employees, you can visit
