Monday, the Akron Public Schools Board of Education recognized the many students who achieved success in the i-Ready Challenge that took place recently. English and math were the challenges for 4,000 kindergarten-through-eighth-grade students to meet.
The discipline needed was 45 minutes per week of reading and math and the passing of two lessons each week. The 136 students who made the leaderboard have been awarded swag bags (bags filled with educational gifts) for their achievement.
Interim Superintendent Mary Outley praised the students, saying, "I am immensely proud of these young students who came from every cluster of schools throughout APS. I am especially pleased to see the board recognizing their work."
