The Garfield CLC Scholar Leadership Team hosted a mental health fair during lunch in the cafeteria on May 4. They created this opportunity to meet with various mental health community organizations to educate themselves on mental health resources from professionals.
Gentle Way Institute, Red Oak, The University of Akron, Community Support Services, and Helen Wray Coaching and Consulting had booths at the fair. The following day, the team hosted a mental health assembly during the last period of the day. The assembly was led by APS graduate Johnny Adams, CEO, of Fight or Flight. This a community-based organization that provides mental health wellness programs. A special thank-you to William Rhoades who serves as the adviser.
