National Nite Out in August

Image of National Nite Out LogoPlanning has started for the 36th National Nite Out Celebration. National Night Out is a crime and drug prevention event that is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored by the City of Akron. The event takes place at Goodyear Heights' Reservoir Park (18335 Hillside Terrace) August 6 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. There will be free food and refreshments, live entertainment, games, a bounce house, community partners, safety information and anti-crime signs. 

On Tuesday, August 6, 37 million people from 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases will come together in an effort to promote police-community partnership through crime, drug and violence awareness prevention and NEIGHBORHOOD UNITY. This year, Goodyear Heights will be one of 18 separate events participating throughout the City of Akron.

The RIGHT Committee will offer citizens the opportunity to network with law enforcement officers, community leaders and local outreach organizations, in addition to discovering resources to enhance their quality of life. There also will be fun activities for adults and children to enjoy.
