Akron Public Schools preparations for the return to class include a strong focus on campus security measures. Tuesday, new Student Services Director Wanda Lash (left) and new APS Security Director Don Zesiger (right) met with their team to go over protocols and safety training measures that will be conducted throughout the school year.
"Being vigilant and keeping our schools safe," said Zesiger, "is a round-the-clock commitment. We have a strong team that partners with Akron police officers -- our student resource officers -- to maintain a safe learning environment for students and staff."
