This year, the APS National Inventors Hall of Fame STEM High School walked away with yet another state title during competitions held in March.

Team 60883D, “Dougie," catapulted to the top of the skills scores, posting a winning score of 691, seventy points above the next-closest competitor. This score clinched the 2022 state skills title for STEM.

In team bracket play, STEM "Dougie" claimed back-to-back state tournament champion titles (2021 & 2022). Firestone also showed great strength within their five teams with one team finishing as bracket semi-finalists to round out an amazing performance for Akron Public Schools.

Both schools have three teams each that qualify for the VEX World tournament.
