Schumacher CLC scholars learned the ins and outs of crocheting with third-grade teacher Carmen Parms-Riggins. They learned to make granny squares; on the first square, Ms. Parms-Riggins worked with each student one-on-one to teach them how to crochet.
Scholars did the second square on their own with help as needed. Lastly, they took all of their squares and sewed them together to make a blanket. Teacher and scholars are going to give the blanket to one of the residents in the nursing home at Concordia at Sumner.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness and generosity of spirit at Schumacher.
