Firestone CLC Robotics Teams Advance Again

Image of Platyus Robotics TeamFour Firestone CLC robotics teams advance to the VEX Robotics World Championships in Dallas, Texas, after their performance at the state championship on Thursday, March 2.

Team 7316P, Platypus, won the Design Award, the second highest judged award at any VEX robotics competition. This award makes them eligible to win the Design Award at the international level.

Team 7316X, Xcalibur, advanced to division finals with Akron STEM High School’s team 60883X, Spoon!?, as their partner.

Team 7316E, Eggs ‘n’ Bacon, advanced to division semi-finals where they were eliminated by their sister team, Xcalibur. Team 7316R, Rigatoni, was eliminated in division quarterfinals by the eventual state champions. These two Firestone teams advance based on their overall skills score.

In the past five years, Firestone has qualified fourteen teams for the World Championships where they won international awards in 2019, 2021 and 2022.
